This is one of the last high quality USA BC RICH Bich guitars. It came to me in a greatly distressed state. The finish had oxidized, been severely marred, pitted and gunked up with duct tape. All of the original electronics & hardware had been removed except for the Grover Imperial Tuners and the pressure-lock nut.
I restored the finish by first applying a degreasing solution, then applying a very light coat of Gibson black paint & nitrocellulose. Then I buffed this for what seemed like forever, waxed and buffed again. Check out the results with the before/after pictures.
I purchased Seymouur duncan black backs, an original hardened steel Floyd Rose and all chrome hardware & pickup surrounds. She sounds and plays great now.
The BC Rich Company confirmed that this was a USA made 1986 Bich. What makes it unusual is that the diamond inlays were supposedly not used since the earliest Bichs were produced. This guitar has those inlays. The recessed cavity covers normally would indicate that this was a Japanese made guitar. It is not however.
